This adapter allows cars with OEM “wide” connectors to plug a “narrow” connector puddle light (usually the newer models).
Most Audi/VW’s in North America used the wider connector between 08-12 models, but switched to the narrow in 2013+.

It worked perfectly for me, I installed genuine S logo puddle lights on a 2006 S4 with these adapters

If you’re on the fence about these particular adapters just go for it. I know there are cheaper on eBay and I can’t speak about the quality of the cheap ones but these are top notch, I used them to install newer OEW puddle lights with the ring’s projectors on my 2006 S4 and they worked perfectly, this adapter allows to install those without splicing wires and the adapters are made to look and feel like an original part of the car. Definitely worth it.

Works great, converts the old style Audi connector to the new smaller connector type. Small connector that goes into the puddle light is extremely tight. The tolerances are not quite right so be sure once you plug it in that you are ready to leave it. I had to remove mine and it was incredibly hard to remove it and be careful not to break anything.
